Giovanni Spezzacatena (the surname means ‘chain-breaker’ in Italian) moved to Powell River in 2006, in part due to the promising local food movement here. Giovanni gained an MFA in film and animation from Montreal’s Concordia University in 1996, and has taught animation, film, web design, etc. at the university, college and high school levels since 1997 in Montreal, Seattle and Powell River. Giovanni has maintained a small independent graphics/ Flash / web design/ consultancy business Rabideye.com since 2000. He also helps run the 50-Mile Eat Local Challenge/ Edible Garden Tour. Giovanni has been instrumental in developing graphics for Skookum.
