David Parkinson has lived in Powell River since 2006 and is passionate about creating a strong regional food economy that has a place for everyone who wants to become self-reliant and be part of a community of people working together for food security and food sovereignty.
Since early 2007 he has been the coordinator of the Powell River Food Security Project, through which he has become involved in the Malaspina Land Conservancy Society, Seed Savers of Powell River, the BC Food Systems Network, the Powell River 50-Mile Eat-Local Challenge, and various other projects.
